A specialised division, built on a trusted name
DIS applies Southeys Group's decades of civil and infrastructure experience to precise, non-destructive drain inspection.
A trusted name, a specialised focus
From humble beginnings. It all started with a single truck. Long before the modern fleet, the family began as Southey's Pond Cleaning — one lone blue tanker (cartoon cow and all) working the rural back roads, specialising in effluent pond cleaning, spreading and liquid trade waste for local farms. That first truck, a hand-painted name and a promise to always show up became the foundation everything since has been built on.
That first truck led to the next chapter — Southey's Water Services — running "0800 NEED WATER" and delivering water seven days a week out of 842 Old North Road, Waimauku, in the old Scania tanker. Job by job, truck by truck, the business kept growing.
From those first two trucks the family built Southeys Group: a trusted New Zealand partner delivering Hydro Excavation, Vacuum, CCTV and pipe inspection services nationwide. The same family values and roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic that powered that very first pond-cleaning tanker still drive every crew we send out today.
DIS — Drain Inspection Services — is the specialised drain inspection division of Southeys Group Ltd. We utilise CCTV inspection and pipe condition assessment to safely evaluate infrastructure, while the wider Southeys team's powerful vacuum loading and highly skilled flushing ensure effective removal of debris, flooding and blockages. Using our recycling plant, we recover sands, aggregates and water for reuse.
Southeys has extensive project experience delivering services on many of New Zealand's main roading, tunnelling and civil construction projects, often in a wide range of technically challenging environments. Auckland and Wellington are key bases for us, however we have and do work nationwide. DIS extends that same reach and reliability to specialised drain and pipe inspection.
Our organisational values stem from our family ownership and can be best described as "because it's the right thing to do". We strive to do the right thing for our customers, suppliers, staff, health and safety, the environment and for the communities that we work in.
